Posted: 27 November 2020 # Advising SMEs On Funding Opportunities #### Accountant's Minute 253 Despite COVID-19 Coronavirus and all of its associated problems Crowd Sourced Funding continued to grow in Australia during 2020 and the Joint Founder and Managing Director of Birchal Pty Ltd, one of Australia’s leading Crowd Sourced Funding Intermediaries, Matt Vitale, expects 2021 to be a “bumper year” for the capital raising market centred on small businesses and medium-sized enterprises. In a discussion with Matt Vitale earlier in the week, he indicated that the team at Birchal based in Melbourne, even though operating on a lockdown basis working from home, have been very busy assisting SMEs situated all over Australia to be able to raise capital. There is a significant opportunity for accountancy firms to be able to offer Crowd Sourced Funding Equity Raising advice to their clients.
